Here are some super simple and cute DIY Christmas cards for young kids, made by taking a blank card (or cutting and folding some thick cardstock) and decorating the front.
Using this method the possibilities are endless. These ones are the simplest, for KS1/early years kids to make.
Washi Tape Christmas Tree Card
This card involves a lot of simple cutting and sticking – the Christmas tree is constructed separately by sticking strips of washi tape onto cardboard, before cutting into a neat triangle.
Simple enough for early elementary/primary school kids to enjoy, yet so effective.
Paper straw Christmas tree
All you need are some colorful paper straws, pom poms, and cardstock for this simple holiday craft. This would be such a lovely homemade Christmas cards for kids at school to make their parents.
Surprised doily Santa craft
I love the surprised look! Such a cute Christmas card to make with little kids.
Choose these mini doilies so you can fit Santa onto the front of a large blank Christmas card. Cut your prep time to a few minutes and use a large circle hole punch and some dot stickers.

We did this one while practicing shapes. Triangles, squares as well as trapeziums cut from scrapbook paper make up the Christmas trees. Then white paint fingerprints for the snow.

Tape the shape of a Christmas tree onto a blank card with painters tape and let your kids paint over it with tempera paint or another kid-friendly paint.
When dry and the tape has been removed, you’ll reveal the silhouette of a Christmas tree.

If you’re short on time, simplify prep by using a large round hole-punch for the eyes and nose.
