How to Use These Community Helper Matching Cards

These printable cards can be used in so many fun and simple ways for toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergarten kids.

You can use them as a quiet activity, learning center, busy bag, or even a simple matching game during your community helper theme week.

The activity is to match the community helper to the correct tool, object, or workplace card.

However, there’s no need to stop there. Use the cards for vocabulary practice, memory games, sorting activities, and early reading fun.

Ways to Use The Community Helpers Matching Cards

  • Match the helper card to the correct tool/object card
  • Name each community helper out loud
  • Talk about what each helper does in the community
  • Lay them down upside down and play memory match
  • Sort helpers by workplace or tools
  • For a scavenger hunt (hide the object/tool cards around the room and each time they find one they must match it to the correct community helper from the table)

How to Prep the Cards

Simply download and print the cards on regular paper or cardstock for extra durability. Cut out each card before playing.

For longer use, you can laminate the cards. In addition, you can add Velcro dots for matching boards or busy folders.

A little about me

Mom of 4 kids, baby sleep expert plus home organisation and kids activities and crafts

Hi, I'm Sarah

Mom of four outrageously gorgeous Littles.  Yup, four!  The twins are now two and that title still brings me out in a cold sweat… Yet I’m just as determined to give them the best without losing my mind.  I reckon it’s possible!  Most days.

I love a challenge and have to find out they ‘why’, ‘what’ or ‘how to’  –  there are rather a lot of these when it comes to kids…

I also love, love, love things to be neat and tidy and just so.   The Littles normally have other ideas!
